Peak District Holiday Cottage Garden

Deep Mid-Wicket Peak District holiday cottage - Garden Chives & Forgetmenots

No cottage in the countryside is complete without a cottage garden or two and we thought Deep Mid-Wicket should be no exception. So during the process of renovating the house we also spent a lot of time and effort outside reshaping and replanting both gardens.

Unfortunately when we planned the garden we did it as we wanted it and not with the intention of it ever being a holiday cottage garden and having paying guests staying here. That means that the back garden is not that suitable for small children or people with mobility problems as there are little steps, uneven surfaces and no hand rails.

The garden at the back of the cottage faces almost due south and so gets the sun almost all day long. It is very sheltered so it is actually possible to eat outside from quite early on in the year.

See for yourself what it looks like – and listen to the birds sing!

In the holiday cottage garden you will find:
Two patio areas
Garden seating
A table & parasol
External power supply
Lighting
External tap with hose spray fitting
BBQ & tools
Large shed for bike storage and drying wet gear
Lots of plants and flowers giving colour and shape all year round
Great views
Peace & quiet

Here you can see the renovation of the back garden.
