Front BedroomDeep Mid-Wicket Peak District holiday cottage - Front bedroom twin

The bedroom at the front of the house is a lovely room with an original feature fireplace (no longer working) and an exposed stone wall.
The window looks out over the cricket pitch and the view spreads across to Chinley Churn and Cracken Edge in one direction and over towards the hills above Whaley Bridge and Furness Vale in the other direction.
The room is well fitted with antique wardrobe, drawers and side chair. The twin cast metal beds can be put together to create a super king bed if required. Each bed has a bed side cabinet and lamp and there is also a radio alarm clock, hairdryer and fan. The window is covered by a black out blind and curtains so you can sleep beyond 5.00 a.m. in the summer.

Bathroom

The bathroom is barely recognisable as the room it was when we bought the house.
The 80s monstrosity has gone replaced by a new 4 piece suite including a double ended bath and separate electric shower, original wooden panelling was discovered and repainted, under floor heating installed, a heated towel rail and an antique oak storage cupboard fitted. So now we have a beautiful, traditional yet very functional modern bathroom.

This room is only small but is large enough to take a full size single bed and makes a very cosy single room. The view from the window is stunning across the fields and up the hill at the back of the cottage. Because the window faces almost due south this is a very sunny room.
The room also contains a large antique bedside cabinet, mirror and chest of drawers. Unfortunately there is no room for a wardrobe but there are hooks and hangers provided on the back of the door.
There is also a bedside light and alarm clock and the window is covered by a blackout blind for those long summer days when you want to sleep.

Landing
In the stair well you will find a Victorian clothes dryer to help dry laundry if you can’t peg things out in the garden. Also on the landing is a storage cupboard containing the iron and ironing board as well as the vacuum cleaner.
