If you want a Peak District cottage for a short break or longer holiday, while visiting family or friends or you just want somewhere quiet to escape to, Deep Mid-Wicket could well be what you are looking for.

So many of our guests love it – we hope you will too.

We have had the most amazing time. The cottage and location are fabulous, it has everything you could need. The boys have loved the basket of toys and Max has made some great friends on the playing fields. We will definitely be coming back. We don’t want to go home!

However lets be up front about this – We don’t have a hot tub, swimming pool or off road parking for 5 cars, but what we do have is a cosy and really well equipped characterful cottage (where nothing much matches) in a location that means you can be out walking or cycling in open countryside in minutes. You can walk to the dog friendly pub in just as many minutes and or be down in Bugsworth Basin watching the boats and feeding the ducks.

Deep Mid-Wicket is a 130 year old quarry workers’ cottage, located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, in the small village of Buxworth. In a quiet location opposite the village cricket green and very close to Bugsworth Basin the cottage has lovely open views front and back.

The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard with a mixture of modern and antique features and furniture, pretty soft furnishings and up-to-date appliances. Be warned though, nothing matches! We like it that way and think it adds to the character of the cottage.
